Had our first excursion today a trip to the Acropolis and Parthenon. Was a great day weatherwise. Sunny with a nice breeze and about 24 C.
Started out a bit early for our liking, up at 6:30 for buffet breakfast then onto the bus by 7:45, not really that early, and we have to prepare ourselves for some earlier days to beat the crowds and get some long travel times in. Any we managed.
After that we were dropped off in downtown Athens and went to the National Archeology Museum. Took quite a bit longer to walk than expected and found it very difficult to navigate the maps in Greek and the gps we had did not function too well but after some lunch and better direction we made it.
I am adding some pictures of the Acropolis and Parthenon but not giving too much description, a picture is worth 1000 words and I think our local tour guide multiplied that times 10. I thought we were in a lecture. So I just wandered off alit and took pics. Anyway here are some and some at the museum as well.

Here are some from the National Archeology Museum that I just used the camera for. It was quite a large museum of artifacts from all around Greece.
